Welcome to Napili

Experience one of Maui’s best-kept secrets

Located on the western side of Maui, Napili is situated between the towns of Ka’anapali and Kapalua. Napili lies hidden from the main road, giving the town a low-key and relaxed atmosphere. This area is famous for its scenic views, oceanfront properties, and golden-sand beaches. Napili also features some of the best snorkeling in Maui, attracting avid snorkelers from across the globe.
The town of Napili originated in 1960 when a handful of Canadian investors purchased the land. Throughout the past decades, the area has slowly been transformed into a vacation paradise and resort community. However, the area’s development slowed due to zoning ordinances, allowing Napili to preserve its unmatched beauty and inspiring views.

What to Love

  • A quiet and quaint lifestyle
  • Starting your morning at the farmers market
  • Fine dining at Sea House Restaurant

Local Lifestyle

Home to 7,000 residents, Napili is a primarily residential community that offers fewer crowds than its neighboring resort towns. The town is still interspersed with boutique hotels and vacation condos, as well as a respectable number of activities and restaurants. It often attracts visitors who are searching for a leisure experience without the hassle and busyness of other larger resort communities. Although Napili is an off-the-beaten-track town, one of the many perks of residing here is its close proximity to other popular destinations in Maui. This enables residents to enjoy the best of both worlds.

Dining, Shopping, and Entertainment

Whether you’re looking to tackle some shopping or grab a cup of coffee to start your morning, you can do that and more at the Napili Plaza. This mid-size shopping area offers a diverse selection of 15 merchants. Here, you can find options for dining, shopping, and entertainment while soaking up the small-town ambiance that locals and visitors have adored for decades.
If you can’t find what you’re looking for at Napili Plaza, try stopping by Honokowai Marketplace. This small shopping center features restaurants, services, and retail designed to fit your every need. Kahana Gateway Shopping Center is also worth exploring. This premier shopping destination brings unique merchants, services, and dining options to West Maui.
Celebrating a special evening? Book a table at Sea House Restaurant, which offers comfortable open-air dining and mouthwatering sea-to-table cuisine. If you prefer a more casual dining experience, be sure to check out Kitchen 5315 Restaurant & Tiki Bar. This eatery serves American classics as well as International dishes in a lively setting. Joey’s Kitchen Napili is a popular, low-key cafe that specializes in Hawaiian-inspired Filipino cuisine. The menu features poke, fish tacos, and seafood. Opt to dine indoors or snag a table outside on one of the sidewalk seats.

Things to Do

Although Napili might not offer the level of nightlife as nearby towns, life here is far from boring. Kick off your weekend at the Napili Farmers Market. Since 2012, this farmers market has been committed to providing West Maui residents and visitors with fresh, locally grown produce and supplies. Explore booths featuring everything from fresh produce, baked goods, and artisanal crafts.
If you’re looking to spend some time in the sunshine and sand, head over to Napili Bay. Protected by an outer reef, this sandy beach is popular among swimmers and snorkelers. Honolua Bay, which is surrounded by high rocky cliffs, is also worth exploring. Spend the afternoon snorkeling or simply soaking in the incredible views.
